What's It About?
Tehillah Recording Studios is a small studio focused on writing, tracking, and mixing full songs and records. Primary genres are CCM, Country, Folk, 60s-70s Music, Gospel, and other instrument-heavy music. Time and cost are flexible since the studio is still in its newer stages so this is a great place for passion projects, and new ideas! I've been very inspired by vintage, analog style sound design, such as anything from the Beach Boys to Michael Jackson, to Brooks & Dunn to SEU Worship. Check out the ABOUT page to see more about the process and vision.

Writing/Demos
Brainstorm ideas for your next songwriting project and lay down some scratch recordings. Bring all your notebooks and inspiration and we can write and record some parts to help get the project into motion. This step is crucial so we can nail down the idea and concept before delving into the sometime endless task of recording the finished song or record! This step is very flexible on time and is the part that should be the least rushed, so its best to just allot a full day or two to make the creative process as natural as can be.
Tracking
Tracking (recording) the instruments and vocals is the largest, and often most technical step.
The studio has at least one of every typical instrument: drums, guitars, keys, amps, etc; but of course feel so free to bring in your own tools and instruments, just keep in mind, setting up other instruments takes time so we can square away expectations later in the process.
This step is best done in full day increments (8hr), especially if you have a full band and/or several songs. Albums are epic but can easily take a dozen sessions, but sometimes you nail it on the first go. The price will reflect time spent so don't worry if the project went too quick or too long, we will assess once the project is "done" what the best price is based on the turnout.

If you are just wanting to track one instrument for a song that someone else is producing, you'll generally pay by 1/2 day (4hr) increments. Drums can occasionally be an exception just because the setup and mic-ing can take hours to get it dialed, especially if you bring your own kit. All that to say this step can be very labor intensive and repetitive, but the reward is great!
Mixing
Half of the entire studio is the Control Room. The mixing stage is when we take those tracks and start adding compression, eq, and effects to bring out the best in those recordings. For a full production, this step can be very time consuming but the more time you spend getting the best sounding recording, the less we have to "fix it in the mix". This step takes your performance and glues it all together into a stereo track which will be mastered in the next and final step. Mixing is also very genre dependent; if we're recording a more dry, folky track, the mixing stage wont be so technical; however, CCM or Pop/Hip Hop can be more post-production heavy to get that Hi-Fi radio sound. This step is often done by me alone, but i believe having the artist in the room can really help nail the mix on the first round. However, sometimes you may want some tweaks to the mix after i send it to you, in which case you will have unlimited mix revisions and I'm very open to feedback!
Other Services
I also like to dabble in film scores and cinematic sound design particularly for horror/ambient style short films. I've worked on a few fairly successful film festivals and I'm open to helping out whether it be making the music from scratch or mixing the final dialogue, music, and effects.

While i primarily work on more instrument-heavy music (CCM, Country, 70s), I'm super into Hip/Hop, Ambient/Synthwave, Rock, Blues, and plenty more, so don't hesitate if you have a different sound or style.

Voiceover work is also welcome!
